Shooting at St Ledgers

Ashby St Ledgers Shoot is run over 2500 acres of undulating mixed arable and dairy farmland all of which is in the countryside stewardship scheme with over 25 kilometres of grass margins benefiting game and other wildlife. A 14 acre lake surrounded by woodland dominates the northern end of the shoot whilst the more open undulating south and eastern part is more suited to partridge only (early season) and mixed drives
later on.

Around thirty drives are available, many from game cover strategically placed to provide the best birds possible .Maize, millet ,sorghum, artichokes, sweet clover and chicory are all used to hold and flush birds from and in some cases provide feed throughout the shooting season.

The drives are pegged for 9 guns but the shoot caters from 8 - 10 as required. Partridge, Pheasant or mixed days are sold, any can be taken with duck drives.

Refreshments are provided throughout the day. An optional evening meal can be provided at extra cost.

Evening duck and goose flights can be arranged.

Muntjac stalking from high seats situated in woodland is also available.
